At the beginning of care, you will be oriented on the process and monitored closely for developments by your Doctor of Chiropractic and Chiropractic Assistants.
1. Your first appointment, is completely about you! This 30-40 minute appointment will be spent discussing your history, seeing where you are at and finding out where you want to be in relation to your health. The chiropractor and their assistant will then use a range of tests (chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological) to determine the status of your spine and nervous system. If required, further tests such as X-rays, may be recommended to determine possible causes and the best treatment methods for you.
2. Your next appointment will take around twenty to thirty minutes, where your chiropractor will be discussing the results of your examinations, x-rays and other tests. Findings will be thoroughly explained, and recommendations will be made. Your chiropractor will tell you the condition of your spine and nervous system and give you a realistic timeframe when you can start to feel significant improvements. You will be informed of the planned program of care that is expected to bring positive results in the shortest time possible. If the chiropractor finds that your problems are not in any way related to chiropractic, you will be informed as well and be referred to the most appropriate health professional.
3. If you choose to go ahead with a program of chiropractic care, your Nervana chiropractor will be there to assist you and watch your progress every step of the way. He or she will be adjusting your spine, making sure it is in the correct alignment so you can experience relief from the pressure on your nerves. This will promote normal body functions and balance and result in better communication between your brain and other body parts. Once thorough assessment of the spine has been carried out, it’s just a case of implementing the program of care. Adjustment visits are quite quick and so will not hinder your daily time table like other longer type appointments can. The recommended frequency of your adjustments though is critical to bring about the positive changes that you want.
As you enter the second phase, you will be invited to a Wellness Care program where you will be informed of the health and wellness benefits of chiropractic in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. Chiropractic promotes prevention of medical conditions and diseases, instead of curing whatever crisis has come to hand.
